Deputy Home Manager at Barnby Court
I have always had a passion for helping others. Even at a young age I extended a helping hand and provided company for my elderly neighbour; who I continued to support throughout my teens. To make a difference in someone’s life is a truly special position to be in and I couldn’t think of a greater privilege than to lead, support and empower an inspirational team to provide a high standard of care and wellbeing each day.
Registered Manager at Barnby Court
Mags started at Barnby in August 2000 as a Care assistant and quickly found herself to be the first Senior at Barnby and even quicker found herself accepting the role of Home Manager and has enjoyed leading the team and developing the home since. When asking Mags about what she enjoys about Managing Barnby she states: ‘Every day is so different, I love planning for the future and improving our services. I love the diversity of my role and the people we meet, I love sharing knowledge and training and empowering the team’. Outside of work Mags enjoys spending time with her family, loves classical music and northern soul and hosting ‘afternoon teas’ with friends and family. Mags loves laughter and once she starts there’s no stopping her
Registered Manager at Farthings
I’ve worked in care homes for over 28 years now, qualified with Level 2 and 3 in health and social care, Level 5 Management of Adult residential health and social care settings and Level 7 CMI Strategic management qualification I followed my mum into the job by volunteering at our local care home where she worked, she had also followed her mum into care as my nana was the Matron of a council care home for 20 years. Everything I do makes me happy in my role but nothing more so than seeing my residents smile and knowing the staff feel supported and also enjoy their jobs as it can be long and at times difficult hours in care work. Over the years I have worked in 12 different homes, some of those were for the same company as I progressed, but to me, Farthings outweighs all previous experiences through my career. I feel happy and content here, I wake every day happy to come to work even through difficult times in the industry I always feel supported and encouraged by the Directors and the family as a whole. My favourite thing overall is that the home is family run but led by the residents wants and wishes and the company go above and beyond to ensure they receive everything they need along with The Farthings team all together really get on and enjoy working together and I feel 100% confident n the delivery of care to our residents is second to none.
Director
I’m a Director at Ashall Care Ltd and the Nominated Individual with the CQC for both Barnby Court and Farthings. Farthings has been part of my family’s heart and lives for over 35 years. I have spent over 12 years working in various roles for the NHS, this gave me a great foundation of how care organisations should operate and how to set, achieve and maintain high standards of care.
I have been working operationally at Farthings for over 12 years and it has been an absolute pleasure to be part of and seeing the home grow, evolve and move forward over this time. Every time I visit Barnby Court and Farthings I hear laughing amongst the residents and the staff team, it is truly heart-warming to know that the residents are happy and well looked after, as part of the Ashall Care family, and that the staff team are also happy in their work.
Deputy Home Manager at Farthings
I have worked in care for 26 years and have built a wealth of knowledge and experience working across differant care settings completing my NVQ levels 2&3 and currently working towards my NVQ 5. I am passionate about my job and nothing makes me happier than seeing the difference that we make to our wonderful residents. Farthings to me is an extension of my own family, and I feel truly lucky to be working here. I strive to help all of our amazing staff team wherever possible and am always here to support and encourage them.
